Online and In-Person Learning

The Cold Water Facilitator training program consists of both engaging, self-paced online learning modules as well as an immersive in-person training experience. Through this comprehensive approach, you will gain not one but two valuable qualifications!

Participants will receive a Cold Water Facilitator Certification from Kay Lou Academy, STA Endorsed | 1 CPD Point, as well as a Basic Life Support Certification with an accredited provider, valid for 2 years.

*The online learning and in-person training are both necessary for your qualification and are included in the course fee. This combined method helps you understand cold water theory and develop skills through hands-on experience.

"Hi, I’m Kay Lou, and I’ll be your coach throughout this journey. Cold water therapy and breathwork have completely transformed my life, opening doors to incredible opportunities and allowing me to turn my passion into a profession. With over six years of experience in the wellness space, four years running ice bath and breathwork events, and nine years in creative business and branding, I’ve designed this course to give you everything you need to succeed. Every training video is taught by me, and I’ll personally be there during the immersive day to ensure your learning experience is of the highest standard. My mission is to support 1 billion wellness journeys, and together, we’ll build your confidence, skills, and business to create something truly special."

 FAQ’s

  • Are you ready..not one but two qualifications!

    Cold Water Facilitator Certification with Kay Lou Academy (STA Endorsed,| 1 CPD Point) and Basic Life Support Certification with Manchester First Aid (fully accredited and valid for two years.)

  • Yes, both are essential. At Kay Lou Academy, we believe that theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on training go hand-in-hand to prepare you as a confident and skilled Cold Water Facilitator.

  • Straight away! Once payment is made you will gain access to Kay Lou Academy and learning can begin at your own pace. Once the online learning is complete you just book onto the next available in person training day which will be held at different times throughout the year.

  • You will qualify once all online learning is complete and the in-person day is attended. It depends on how quickly you get through your online learning, and which in-person training day you book onto. But in theory, from enrolment you could be qualified in as little as 4 weeks!

  • Ideally yes (but don't worry if not). Ideally all online training should be completed before attending your in-person day as there will be practices and training that refer to the online modules. This ensures you are equipped with everything ahed of your in-person cold water facilitator and basic life support training day.

  • Our in-person training day is currently held in Preston (UK, PR1) and the location shared upon enrolment. We have chosen the location for it's natural setting, and access to all equipment needed. We anticipate more locations as demand for the course grows.

  • The in-person day is a mandatory part of the course. We fundamentally believe that online learning is not adequate to train you in real life cold water scenarios! We are aiming to run immersive in-person days throughout the year so one every 12 or so weeks. As the demand for the course grows (which we are confident it will) there will be more in-person immersive dates added.

  • The Cold Water Facilitator Course with Kay Lou Academy is £995. This investment reflects the depth of education, hands-on real-world experience and safety led training you will receive and includes both qualifications.

    That includes everything — the full online learning (covering the theory, safety, science and session planning) and a full-day in-person immersive training day where you’ll get stuck in, build confidence, and actually 'do the do.' This ALSO includes your basic life support qualification.

    We’ve also got payment plans available if you need to spread the cost.

  • Yes, we do! We’ve partnered with Klarna and Clearpay so you can split the cost into either 3 manageable monthly instalments or 4 × 2 weeks instalments. We want this course to be as accessible as possible — for as many people as possible, so if spreading the payments helps you say yes to this next step, we’ve got you.
